Message: Your not alone, I've been thinking about doing this for awhile. I think personally that it looks better on an R/T style Dakota. On a 4X4 it might look cheesy, that's why I'm hesitating. Another thing is that your truck will be one of a kind in a parking lot, which causes more attention for theft.
For color I would go with White or Silver, I too have Intense Blue.
I would apply the stripes only on the hood, roof and tailgate. I wouldn't do the front grille, the grille inserts are enough. Another reason why silver stripes would look sweet. And also below the rear bumper I wouldn't do.

Message: yea i think stripes on a 4x4 might look out of place. if you do do it, i would color match the front bumper, and doorhandles.

Message: There is a trend in CNY to put dual rally stripes on everything that has four wheels...I always see a Solar Yellow RC 4x4 around my town with all the Exterior bolt-ons and it has dual rally stripes over the grill and stops at bottom of tailgate. The stripes in black would have actually looked pretty cool but he chose to use Kelly Green for his color...Y U C K !!! He ruined an otherwise sweet looking truck. I want to pull him over every time a see him and tell him to take off those stripes that don't even match the base color in any way. Anyway, there are several 4x4 Rams and Daks in my area that have Rally Stripes and they don't look bad, just not for me and stripes do look better on a slammed Dak or Ram. I think Hot Pink Stripes would look great on your ride BlueTwister! j/k.

Message: '01 CC 4.7,,,Graphite with dual black racing stripes. Did'm in vinyl,,cheaper, and easier to remove if ya wanna sell/trade.
Though about going with white/silver,,,but didn't want it to stick out too much.
Plus the stripes have a better warranty than my paint!

Message: I put stripes on mine a long time ago, and now I wish I hadn't done it because it seems like everyone has them now. I am thinking about taking them off but it would take a lot of buffing afterwards. Here's a few pics of my truck, black with silver metallic stripes.

Message: I would say for your truck, go with the silver, but not too bright, and not too dull. It would look good with the speed grills and the wheels. Then I would get some silver dakota graphics for the sides or just pull the factory ones off.
I thought about yellow, but I think it would be too cheesy. Isn't like greenbay's team colors green/yellow ??
I don't want people to think i'm a fan or anything LOL

Message: Hey Got-Speed,
What about going with a lighter green, acouple of shades lighter than Emerald Green. Or you might pull it off with silver or white.
BlueTwister, I think Silver would look the best.
White there's too much contrast, and black is too dead.

| RE: Should I go with dual racing stripes???? IP: Logged
Message: It's totally a personal choice of width and placement.
Example: I would go with 10" wide stripes and 5" gap in between. This setup looks bad a$$ on a Dakota.
Stripes width ranges from 8" to 10"
Gap between ranges from 3" to 6"
I hope this helps!!

Well I did it myself. 50' of 2" stripe was about $30 w/shipping.. Took around 2 1/2 hours since this was the first time for me to do this sort of thing.
Only one I've seen anywhere. I seen a red dak in truckin or sport truck that had 1 8" black or blue stripe on the pass side.
I like to be different ;)
