Subject: Xenon Fog/Driving Lights IP: Logged
Message: Does any one know what bulbes the stock fog/driving lights use? and if they are even replaceable with out replacing the whole assimbly. I want to just replace the bulb if at all possible. I want to go for that "blue" look, i got some xenon head lights and when i run the stock fog lights it just looks dumb, so its time to match them. Thanks for any info...

Message: Are the Xenon any good, do the ultra white actually make it brighter and easier to see? I had heard that they are actaully worse, and make it difficult to see. Let me know, and what brand and how much/ from where if possible.
thanks

Message: hmm, i dont remember what brand i got off the top of my head. Over all, they do seem better, but that could be me just thinkin how cool they look! :) The ones i have seem bluer than other brands. I got them off ebay, for 16 bucks shipped. So i think it was worth it. Now i just want to match my fog lights to my head lights... hopefully i'll find the same brand so i dont get 2 different hues of blue. When i get home (late tonight) i'll check to see what brand they are on the package.

Message: Ok, so i checked them when i got home. I do have 898's. Now heres my problem, I looked and looked on the internet, and couldnt find anyone with 898's. All everyone sells is 893's. Whats the diff. between 893's and 898's? I love having my driving lights on, but it just looks tacky now. I'll keep looking, but if anyone knows of any companys that sell 898 xenon plasma bulbs, i'd be greatfull. That blue look is just so cool. :)

Message: I have an 03 Durango with the 898 foglight bulbs. I purchased the Xenon headlights on Ebay, and the seller says he has the Xenon Blue 898's available and will sell for $15 including shipping. I haven't seen them yet, but I've sent my check. The sellers name is krypton5200k if you want to look on Ebay for them, or contact the seller. Good luck. I can post again when I recieve them (to verify they are correct)if you like.

Message: Just a little more info, I've found that the 894 bulb, which is readily available on the internet or Ebay, is a replacement for the 898. It is at 37.5W instead of the stock 27W, but who wouldn't want them BRIGHTER. You can get them on Ebay for $10 with shipping from 6$ to 9$.

Message: I looked in E-Bay and the 894 bulbs are 55 Watts and the stock 898 bulbs are 37.5 Watts. Can you use the 894s in the stock assemblies without melting the assemblies OR the wiring? I am way in favor of improving the lighting capabilties of these trucks, but not so far as to take bad chances.

Message: I'm not sure what auction you looked at on eBay, but the 894 bulb spec is 12V 37.5W. You can look at other sites, but here is an auction that shows the specs. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2407600292&category=36476 Here is another website I found that actually shows the 894 bulb replaces the 898. If you click on the 894 it shows you the specs with price. http://www.midnightmoose.com/colored.htm Hope this helps you.

Message: Heres the link to the lights on E-Bay that say they are 55 Watts. Could this be a miss print? They look like the correct style bulbs. Is there anyone who has seen these 55 Watt bulbs, and have they used them? Will they damage the assemblies?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2407487669&category=6777

Message: Hey guys, Thanks for the midnightmoose page. My '01 Stratus has the Fog's posted as a 9006 in the manual, but 899's are the real deal. After months of searching I've finally found some good bulbs, let's just hope they are semi-street legal.

Message: MarHar is right I just bought and installed some 894 for my 2003 dakota. 12v 37.5w it says it right on the boot of the bulb. They are the xenon blue krypton 5200. I just installed them today so I don't know if they will burn to hot (i'll find out soon), but they look cool as $hIt.
