I've got a 4.7 cc sport auto. I'm changing my rims to R/T ones with 2/55/60 17 tires. How much of a difference is this gunna make with 1/4 time and top end or will it make much of a difference at all.

What is the differnce in OD on the tires?? Also, the extra weight of the R/T rims will actually slow you down.

You won't see any increase, the 17" are for looks not performance, that's about as bad as hearing the honda boy at work saying his aluminum spoiler added 15 horsepower.

I wasnt talking about increase performance. I mean decreased performance becuz of the weight of the rims and the bigger diameter of the overall size of tire and rim. How much should i expect it to slow me down. Sorry i didnt make myself clear

You have to take into account the extra weight of the rims and small tire increase VS the extra width and better traction that you will get. If you bought a good sticking, wider tire, your performace should increase since you will get better traction. Best way to tell, go to the track now, get a corrected timed run, then get one later, and try to keep the same parameters (same amount and type of gas, same stuff in the truck, etc)
