Message: V-tech makes a Dakota rams head style taillight cover that look awsome. Especially when painted body color. They really decrease rear visability though, and have heard of one guy getting a ticket for having them on in the fog. The cop couldn't see him further than 20' away. Most cops won't give you a ticket, and they are DOT legal. Shoudl be around $20 for just the covors, and you can get prepainted ones for aroun $40.

Message: Go to any online parts site that allows you to select parts by vehicle type. There are a lot of tail light covers that fit Daks. Depends on what type of cover you want.

Message: i have the v-tech ram's head tail light covers for my 99 dak and i love them. my truck is black and i put on the covers as they were, but now i'm kinda disapointed that i didnt paint them to match the body color exactly. anyone know if its possible to safely remove the covers (since they're on there pretty good with the 3M tape) and put them back on somehow? i guess i could replace them but i dont feel like spending the extra cash if i dont have to

Message: Yes, it is possible to take the covers off and paint them and then all you need to do is take the old 3m tape off and replace it with new tape. Take them off slow though.

Message: I've got the factory covers on the rear of my 97,
(ram head logo)
they were simple to instal, and have held up since the truck was off the showroom floor.
Myself, I prefer them unpainted, but they can be painted. Be sure to use a flexible paint, such as a uerienthan (excuse the spelling)if you decide to go that route.
