 Subject: 01 Dak Roll Bars?

I can't seem to find an application for Roll Bars specific to Dakotas, I thought SmittyBilt made them but not according to their website. I have checked every where on the web it seems. Has anyone else already purchased them and can tell me where? I am looking for black not chrome.

Are you talking about the light bars? or the Roll Bars that go inside the cab? If your talking about the Roll Bars... I've never seen them for inside the cab.. and the light bars would work.. but make SURE that they are heavy duty bars.. and I don't know about pickup trucks but in jeeps I'd have to say make sure they are bolted directly to the frame.. If it was me.. I'd make sure all roll bars are on the frame but I don't know how trucks do it.

I am acutally looking for the In-Bed not In-Cab Roll Bars for appearance only, they give you that off-road look and a place to put more lights. "Real" roll bars go through the floor of your bed to the frame, no 3" holes in my bed thank you! I don't really do any serious off-roading anyway or plan on Rolling-Over and needing the protection:) I just like the looks and want more exterior illumination.

I have some black roll bars from Grizzly on my truck and it looks pretty good. The bolt to the truck box floor. You loose some box space though because the bars go inside the box (the rear ones fit between the fenders). They also have provisions for off road lights (i have KC Lights on them!)

Thanks for the info, I am actually hoping to find some Roll Bars that attach to the wheel wells on the back tubes so that I dont' have to give up the entire box for loading stuff in. Maybe I am just outta luck, but I don't want to buy the Mopar light bar, it's to expensive for what you get and I like the looks of a Roll Bar better anyway on a 4x4.

Make one ;-) that's what I think I'm goign to end up doing for all my stuff.... Just hope someone comes out w/ a suspension lift before I even think about tackeling that monster... GAH!! to late. *dont' look under the hood... don't look under the hood...* Rear bumper & Roof rack first then the lift ;-)

LMAO, you are probably right. I am not that handy with a torch, but I can use my spray gun pretty good and finsh up with a nice shiny coat of paint. I think i will check local metal fab shops for material pricing and use my $800 CAD program to see if it is a project I can do that won't look like something out of Mad Max(good movie, rough looking vehicles).

I am also looking to put a roll bar in the bed of my '97 with a long bed. I cant exactly make one so I was wondering if anybody knew where I could find a chrome or stainless bar thats not too expensive.

Grizzley makes one that fits out DAKs. There web site is not up, but you can get a single/single, a double/single or a double/double.
Figure about $500 for the double/single.

ZenDak mopar no longer makes them i looked for one for mine an was told they dont make it anymore. as of jan 26 2004
