I have read on other forums that the bolts in this area are hard to get off because they use some kind of a fastener at the top other than a hex nut. Others have posted that they used vice grips or band wrenches to hold the "bushing" to remove the bolts. Those guys were usually trying to install hooks or a bull bar. Why are you taking the hooks off ? To install something else, I assume ? I might be interested in buying your hooks - e-mail me at dmeadows@hullbarrett.com if you want to sell them.
