Subject: 2004 Front Bumper IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering. I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota with a 1 piece front bumper. Is it possible to convert it to a 2 piece front bumper. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Message: What do you have in mind to end up with?
Do you want to end up with a chrome bumper/grey textured fascia (as in SLT)?
Do you want to end up with painted and separate bumper and fascia, like what was installed through 2000?
All 1997-2004 Dakotas use the same mounting points - the bumper brackets from the two-piece setup will work exactly as the brackets from one-piece setup (with the reinforcement bar) does.
The biggest difference will be fog lights if you have them. The 2001 models mount them directly in the fascias (no bracket/holder)- the 2000 and older models put them in their own bracket/holder that bolts to the underside of the bumper (peering through the hole in the fascia).

Message: I was going to get a chrome top bumper and a keystone pursuit style lower bumper. This work work them right?
