Subject: Painting your rims

Message:
I've read all the info in the forums about painting your rims, the only thing I'm wondering about is sanding. If you choose to sand between coats (400-600 grit I gather) do you do it wet or dry? I'm also wondering about the durability of the paint. I am planning on many coats of clear, but I'm wondering if getting into gritty mud or flinging stones will make short work of the new finish.

so the paint.what kind of paint are u using? and wut finish are u goin for? wet sanding is primarily for a gloss finish, depending on the color and paint u are using u wont wet sand. u also have to take in consideration the break dust. my opinion, wet sand on 4 coats of primer and use a break caliber paint and 2 coats of clear.
