Subject: Painting your rims IP: Logged
Message: I've read all the info in the forums about painting your rims, the only thing I'm wondering about is sanding. If you choose to sand between coats (400-600 grit I gather) do you do it wet or dry? I'm also wondering about the durability of the paint. I am planning on many coats of clear, but I'm wondering if getting into gritty mud or flinging stones will make short work of the new finish.

Message: so the paint.what kind of paint are u using? and wut finish are u goin for? wet sanding is primarily for a gloss finish, depending on the color and paint u are using u wont wet sand. u also have to take in consideration the break dust. my opinion, wet sand on 4 coats of primer and use a break caliber paint and 2 coats of clear.
