Anyone who has installed the speed grill insert...how hard was it to install and how much labor time would you say it too and what all was involved?

I did the upper grill only. It wasn't hard at all to install.

1. (optional) Remove factory plastic inserts by cutting the plastic "rivets" off.

2. Attach the speed grill inserts with the metal clips they provide. I just used needle nose pliers. Watch the inserts on the paint. They're sharp and can tear the plastic grill frame up.

3. Drill a hole in the hood release lever under the hood and attach their relocator cable. One nut/bolt and a few tie wraps.

Upper grill took me about an hour or so to install.

I've heard the lower speed grill is the tough one. Not much room to work down there unless you remove the bumper.

Top Grille Inserts not too hard to install other than the hood latch relocator which takes a little extra time to plan out and set-up, must use patience with those bloody clips. As an FYI- the install is pretty much permanent since the clips supplied to hold the screens in place dig and scratch the hell out of the stock grill shell finish, you can't see it with the inserts in though. The Bottom Inserts are a different story, you could take off the front bumper or at least loosen it to gain more access from behind(I have the optional tranny cooler which leaves hardly no room) or what I found to work is you start at one side and work your way across(with some scrapped knuckles and contorted positions), the last piece is the tough one and if you have some patience, place the clips on the bumper from behind first by lining them up with the contact points for the insert. Once you have the clips on you can use a long handled wide flatbladed screwdriver(taks some practice and helps if someone else can hold the screwdriver) to hold the clips from behind and push the insert underneath each clip while pressure is maintained on the clip. The inserts are flexible and even if bent are easily straightened out since they are aluminum. Also as a time saver I used nearly half of the recommended clips and my inserts do not move at all(overkill is not needed). Hope this helps.

I did both sets on mine and it took a lttle over 2hrs to finish.I did the lower valance without touching the bumper and I got pretty big hands so you should be able to get it done.My only gripe is to pay out the butt for inserts and they give you a pretty poor way of placing them with the metal clips. These will get on your nerves after fighting with them for over an hour and there is no way to prevent from scracthing the paint on your grill.I would not trade for the look of these but to get there is a b*cth.Good luck and wacth your knuckels!!!!
