Subject: Streak marks IP: Logged
Message: I have noticed latley when I wash my dakota and shammy it down, that they are these vauge streak marks in the paint. Looks almost like someone may have burnt it a little with a buffer. Is there anything like waxes or polishes or anything. Thanks!!!!

Message: I'm sure you'll see a lot of remedies on here sooner or later. I'll let you know what I used for similar stuff. When I first bought my hard tonneau cover (Snug Lid) there were swirl marks all through it. I don't know if it's because it's fiberglass or what the deal was, so I went to my local auto parts store (Carquest) and one of the guys there highly recommended a product by The Wax Shop called Safe Cut. How much confidence did he have in the product. He brought a brand new bottle outside the store, asked me where the biggest problem was, told me if he applied it and it worked I bought it. I said, fair enough. Worked like a charm! I bought the bottle and still use it when I have problems like that. There are zero swirl marks on my cover, it looks just like the rest of my Dak.
Then, on top of that my son's girl friend who drives an old 84 Volvo around decided to see if my stuff could do something about her faded paint job. Guess what? It looks brand new, unbelievable.
Other than this stuff, I use Meguiar's Gold Class as the top coat on the Safe Cut stuff and the only coat on the rest of the Dak.
