Subject: Lowering a 96 Dakota IP: Logged
Message: I'd like to lower my 96 Dakota std cab, so that it will sit "level", rather than tail up. I see a few kits out there to do that, a 1" to 2" and a 3" to 4". Which would be my best choice if I was keeping the stock front suspension for now? Does that affect my angles on the driveshaft?
Thanks for the help.

Message: I droped my 95 in the back with 2" lowering blocks. And it sat level, make sure you get cast iron blocks and not aluminum.

Message: I had 2" blocks on the back before to make it sit level(that's what you said you wanted to do), I just recently lowered it though. Now I've got 2" drop spindles on the front and 4" blocks on the back. If you want to keep your front stock for now then get you a 2" block kit. It will level it out and it only cost like 30 bucks. If you do dicide in the futre to do what I have done to my 94 dak then email me and I'll tell you where to get the spindles and the 4" blocks cheap.

Message: Hey Drew, It's not that big of a secret, but I called and checked around and it is the cheapest I found. Go to buy in ebay and put in 96 dodge dakota drop spindles. The price is $129, and shipping is $39 = $170 "buy it now". Every where else I checked was $200 and up. As for the blocks it's the same thing. Go to ebay and type in 4" lowering blocks, and you can get those for like $30 "buy it now". I got a local auto shop to put my spindles on for 60 bucks. Every body thinks it messes the ride up with blocks and stuff, but mine still rides like a caddilac. Hope this helps, anything else let me know
