I am looking into getting the Speed Glo gauge replacement for my new '01 Dakota QC w/Auto. I have been reading some posts that seems to imply that the model years prior to 2001 had tachs that only read up to 6000. My tach reads to 7000 RPM so this replacement would not work (or at least read correctly) on my truck. I plan on calling APC Monday, but I was hoping to order this weekend so maybe somebody here can clear this up for me.

Well I did a little more searching here (keyword TACH and not TACHOMETER) and looks like the 01 tachs are 7000 and the previous years are 6000 after all.
I guess the question becomes... Does anybody know of a company offering replacement gauges with the new 7000 RPM limit for the tachometer?

I had one on ebay but my bid was cancelled right b4 the end of the auction. It was for the 2001 with the 7000 rpm tach....bastard.
