Howdy folks, new to the forums and just wanted to pose a quick question.
I have a 94' Dakota and need to have the front seat replaced. I went in for an estimate at the upholstery shop and it broke my budget a bit.

My question was, how difficult is it to actually install these seats with limited experience? Thanks for any help in advance.

well, it depends on the qwuality of the seat covers. Do they slip on over the old covers, or do you remove the old ones 1st and then put on the new ones? Some seat covers that I have used require you to tie elastic bands under the seats and through the opening between the back and seat cushion. but then there's the good ones tha require hog rings and hog ring pliars for good fit. This type will usually fit better than the type that tie on under the seat with elastic straps and s-hooks. They are of course more difficult to install and more expensive. but they will look better too.

I live just west of StL MO, are they straight gray or do they have that gray with the little multi-colored dots, i forgot what they call it.

these seats are charcol gray on the back and sides(sides are vinal) an light gray on the front and back(where you sit)

i forgot to mention that these are out of a generation2 dakota (1993)and are more comfortable ( they recline )) but you need to modify the seat bracket to make it work( like weld a flat piece in for bolts because the factory bolt locations are different

Costco has supberb Wool seatcovers. They really aren't hotter in summer, just ask an RVer.

best leather seats for a dkota is go to a salvage yard and get a set from a durango thats my plan and dont forget the center and overhead console while your there
