Message: I've got my bedliner Line-Xed and thought it might look good to Line-X the sides below the rubber on the doors. The years have been rough on that area and I've lots of nicks and chips. Line-X shop wanted $800 so I think I'll forget that idea. It's all of about 8" all around the truck but they said something about a lot of taping as the excuse for the high quote. Anyone else done this?

Message: I've seen it done. Although it doesn't look all that great, it's certainly functional. I wouldn't spend $800. I would get the DIY kit for about $70 (less on sale) and spray it myself. Even rolled on doesn't look bad at all.

Message: I spray liners at an accessory shop and it does take a lot of taping off. I've done this numerous times to many trucks. If you don't tape off the entire truck while spraying this material you will be spending a lot of time getting the overspray off. The one bad thing is the material fades after time due to the sun, otherwise it's a good idea. Taping off is the most time consuming part and that's the reason for higher quotes.
