Subject: Fog Lights Help IP: Logged
Message: Hey there! I am interested in getting some white beam fog lights for my 97 Dakota. Can anyone suggest any to me for under a $100? Right now i don't have any fog lights so will the wiring be hard to do if i want to hook it up to the regular light switch? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Message: I wired my fogs into the parking lights, then put a switch in so they can be shut off even if the lights are on. Not a huge deal, just pull the "light switch" and wire it right there. Then get a switch, and mount it. I put mine on the bottom left side of the dash.... out of the way, yet easy to reach. If you look on your fire wall, you'll find holes with rubber gromits in them. Run your wires there. When done right it's just like factory :)

Message: Hey KP, Will you place them in the bumper slots,or find another spot? I know you can put the racing style lamps in different spots.I would be in on a group sale for fog lamps. If anyone knows a good vendor, let me know.

Message: I have just bought some Comet 868 lights with blue marker lamps. All I need to know is how to install the wiring "stuff." The Damn box of course has no directions, just a schematic of what the wires "might" go to.
Please Help!
It is an 1988 Dak.

Message: I got mine off ebay for $70. They came with a
switch (so they are independent) and a full set of
instructions. The vendor has them on there quite
often, I think his name was alvielou

Replaced the factory ones (one was broken)
had to isolate the mounting because i used the factory wiring, but the light output and build quality are very good

Message: I replaced mine with some I got from Walmart,
They are made by pilot, They are a perfect fit and look exactly like the factory ones except the lenses are kinda blue looking. I think they are called blue racers or blazers or something close to that. They work great and I didn't use the wiring kit that came with them either. I just spliced them into the wiring from the factory fog lights and they work just fine. I had read on here some people posting saying that if they did this thier fogs were staying on all the time even if the lights weren't on. It seemes like thats they were saying. I haven't had a problem with this, BTW I only gave 59.99 for them I think. I see them on Ebay alot but for a little more than Wally World wants.

Message: Thanks to those who replied to me. Actually, I got the damn things installed the next day. The morons who made the wiring instructions said that there was a red wire that needed to be hooked up to the battery terminal, but in actuallity, it was a blue one! Duh!!! Also, I hooked them up to my head lights and they are @#$$in awesome. Hope to have a picture for this sight soon. Late...
