I bought a set off of ebay about 2 months ago. I pretty much bought them because I had never seen them before. I don't care too much for the way they look on my truck. Also there is a fitment issue. The tailight is about 1/8 inch smaller all the way around than the stock one. I'm planning on relisting them on ebay if your interested I can send you some pics of them and you can see what you think. Email me at Mikeqc12@insightbb.com if interested. It might take me till Saturday too get you the pics.

How do you know they are not legal for street use? I have seen legal sets for gen 2s.

lets see.
1. no dot approval number stamped on the lense
2. a state trooper told me they were not approved lenses. I thought they didn't fit right either. had to cut them. Where else have you seen them? The website i bought them from even said they were for off road use only.

just so you know, that set might have been illegal, but there are legal sets out there for the first 3 gens of dakotas.

sorry to drag up an old thread. But these should be legal because they have red reflectors that can be seen from the rear and the sides.
