Subject: removal of the radio/climate ctrl cover IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone know how to remove that piece of trim (or cover) in the center of the IP which covers the radio and climate control module? I found an aluminum colored paint that I think would make it look a pretty sweet, if I could get the damn thing out without breaking it...
Thanks!

Message: if you are talking about the piece that goes all the way around the steering wheel and over past the radio(usually factory black) then it should just pop off....atleast it does in mine, but im not sure if the interior is different in the newer ones...mine is a 97

Message: In an 02, it's a one-piece trim that goes all the way across to the driver's-side door. Three Torx head screws in the bottom grey trim piece, two phillips-head screws above the guage cluster, then snap clamps on the actual trim piece.
If you have an auto, move the shift lever all the way to "1" when removing the trim so nothing gets scratched (don't forget to hold the brake :-). Also there will be several electrical plugs to remove (headlights, HVAC, 4wd, etc.).
