Message: I have never done that, awesome idea though. I did manage to cram two tens behind the seats of my rc r/t. sounds great and i mounted the amp under my seat. as for the amp and sub, i would have gone with better stuff than that. Pyle and legacy both suck from experience, however work with what you got and good luck. id like to hear how it goes and see some pics when your done though.

Message: college.....i wont even attempt that.....i have the box almost done and am just gonna black felt it all and then put padded red vinyl in some areas to accent....i am also installing a cd rack and cupholders in the lower section...ill try to figure out how to post pics later. only advice i have so far....use a 10" or even two of 'em cause this 12" really uses alot of space!!!!

Message: Fiberglass is easier then wood! I sware it really is, or at least you need less tools, more time, patiences, and eye for detail.
Anyhow, give fiber a try one day

Message: Fiberglass would be excellent because it could be formed into custom shapes, but how would you frame it? Don't you need something to start laying the glass on top of?

Message: yeah i would think...but maybe not...i have just heard that its hard to do w/o getting bubbles and such. i already have the whole thing basically built now....i kinda wish i wouldve went w/ 10" cause it REALLY would have been less crampped! it kinda feels like a nascar or something, but i is kinda good cause it "holds" u in place a lil' better...kinda more secure nowill try to post some pics...do ya gotta be a member to post pics?

well, i now it is kinda the cheap route.....i priced the things new (or on ebay) and the cheapest i could find the sub was like 95.00 and the amp(or atleast one similar...same wattage and brand) was like 189.00, so that is a little better i guess. about the enclosure..what i did is kinda hard to explain with words but ill try.
the box goes up the back wall about 18" then out about4" (at 9 1/2"W)then i angled two pieces of both sides 2 1/4" each to create kind of a trapizoid shape, this gave me 14" to put the 12" speaker in....its at a 45 degree angle....at the bottom of the speaker area (14"x14" square") i continued the angle down to 12"....from there i went straight towards the dash to the 31" mark...at this point i just 45ed it down to the floor under the dash. thats the best way i can explain it till i get pics. the amp will be mounted under the seat

Message: Sorry to bring up this post, but if you are trying to make a enclosure out of pure fiberglass you cannot do that. You have to have a wood frame then wrap it and then finally you can lay the glass down.
Finally... a V8. '01 Dodge Dakota RC, 4.7, 5-speed, 3.92 LSD. = R/T Killer. well at least a stock one
