What all is involved in installing a pair of universal racing buckets into a bench seat, single-cab 89 Dak? I was planning on buying some eBay specials and installing them with the universal sliders. Will I have to fabricate inner mounts for the seats?

You'll not only have to fabricate inner mounts, but you'll have to modify the outer mounts as well. If it were me, I'd just dump all the factory aprts and fabricate a whole new seat base.
Although, racing seat are kinda thin. You might be able to use a swivel base for a van.
