 Subject: Shaved tailgate

Where would be the best place to get a kit to remove the handle off of the tailgate? Also...do they have a kit to shave the antenna? Driving at high speeds, the thing flopping around...I'd like to get rid of it and install an under teh dash type of antenna. Where should i go to get this stuff??? Thanks!

Maybe you need an antenna razor! There are none where I live, so guess if my antenna grows hair I'll have to improvise. No hair on my tailgate either, I keep it washed so nothing will grow on it.

shaving your tailgate handle is friggin stupid
it was installed there for a reason
are you driving a bucket or a truck?
if you take off the tailgate handle that would make the bed of the truck a bucket
if you didnt like it there then just remove the tailgate
or perhaps buy a car and sell your truck to someone that actually likes trucks

see here is how i feel about it
yes i do agree it is his ride and not mine and he should enjoy it the way he wants to enjoy it
however i have that stubborn hard head in me that says
that he is going to destroy a perfectly good, usefull truck
so in essense he is removing one perfectly good road worthy piece of equipment from the car market or population so to speak
which to me i look at that like you pouring out beer on the street for the heck of it
or shreading dollar bills in a shreader just cause
but hey if he enjoys shreding his own money
then leave that up to him i suppose
thats all
i just have a bad attitude twards people that do things that are so wasteful
thats all

I never have and never will buy a new car or truck in my life. And when someone does this to their vehicle it makes my pickings at used vehicles that much slimmer. Because there are very few people in the world like myself that keep vehicles till they are nothing but junk yard matereal. Now when hes bored with this truck that has a tail gate that cant open then he has to get rid of it. And finding a buyer will not be easy. Because the truck is just that costomized to his peronsal liking. I doubt that some one that can afford to do things like that to the thing they drive will keep it for 15 years. So that means that it eventually will be for sale. But i wont be buying it and neither will most other people cause it is his costom tastes.

If you buy a shaved tailgate handle kit
it comes with a "relocator" so the tailgate handle is placed on the opposite side that it was originally
So you can STILL USE it as a truck
but on the outside it has a smooth custom LOOK.

check it out, the frame lays on the ground, there are no handles, no gas filler door, no antenna, or taillights, oh yeah, and the doors open backwards.

anyway, i bought a sir michales tailgate handle re-locater kit, it was only like 50 buck... that way YOU STILL GET TO KEEP YOUR HANDLE! - it's just on the inside.
taillights, doors, & antenna... i just made my own fillers out of sheet metal.
