What year do you have? I have a '98 and I got mine from StreetBeatCustoms.com. I have white face with red numbers. You can also check out StylinConcepts.com. They have some nice ones also. It's not hard to do, but you MUST have some time and patients to get all the needles put back correctly. I can tell you the main things that have to be done, but not the exact step by step directions.

I have an 02 CC. I have had the truck in pieces already from doing the stereo, but want to know the details of guages. Do the needles only go on one way or can you screw them up when putting them back on?

Thanks in advance.

Well since you have taken the dash apart, then you probably know a good bit about doing the job alrady. There are some instructions that come with the Guages. Mine are APC, so....

Once you remove the dash cover you will see several (about 8) screws holding the clear cover on the guages.

After removing the cover, you sill see that there is another piece of plastic around the parimiter edge of the guages. Remove that. (It might be easier to remove the whole guage pod from the dash, just a few extra screws).

You can remove the needles by using a golf divit remover, or a fork. Be careful not to break the needle! Note the EXACT positions of each needle when the truck is warm, for Water temp, Oil Pressure, Battery, Fuel, and RMP's at idle. You will have to probably remember how fast you go at a certain RPM to get the speed. For example: I know that at 2000 RPM's in OD, that my truck does exactly 65 MPH. Remove the old Needle rests (on Tach and Speed), to reinstall on new face.

Once the needles are out, carefully remove the old guage face. There is some glue around the needle whole on the Tach, and Speedomiter. The edges of the face might also have a little glue. You must get this up to make sure that the new faces go down correctly. If the new ones don't sit properly, your new faces could have a slight "wave" in them, causing the needles to get stuck on them, due to the little clearence.

After installing the new faces, restart the vehicle and let run to insure that all the Temps and pressures are where they need to be. Reinstall the needles, GENTLY! Don't push down hard, or the needles will be stuck.

Shut off vehile to make sure all needles drop to normal position. I WOULD test drive the vechicle to make sure that all needles work, and to set the speedomiter. Be care when driving.

After you are sure that ALL needles work properly, reinstall all the guage housing and cover, etc...

Hope that helps some. Like I said some guages come with some directions, but you should be able to get it once you start looking at what needs to be done. It's not hard, but do MAKE SURE that you either take a picture of all your needles or remember them, if not, you will be up a creek! Good luck.

Matt
