 Subject: Cruise control question

How hard would it be to remove the entire cruise control module, buttons and all? and under the buttons, what is it like? is it just like a normal steering wheel, or cna you tell there is something missing.
The reason i ask, is someone might sell me their cruise control, but is worried about these things. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
