 Subject: tailgate handle relocater

i want to get a relocater for my dak cuz i think it gives it
more of a custom look.i was wondering if you have to
patch the hole when taking out the handle or just get a
whole new tailgate.if i have to patch the hole does the
kit come with some type of patching stuff?can anybody
help me with this?thanks

Angel, I think if your asking these questions you NEED to go to a body shop. This type of work involves modifying the tailgate linkage and welding the patches, plastic body filler, and paint. As of my knowledge no one manufactures a remote handle DAK tailgate

the kit comes with a metal filler plate that has to be welded in.then you have to cut a hole in the back side of the tailgate and put the kit in. all you have to do as far as the linkage is unclip them and then re clip them in backwards its no big deal.most of it is bodywork.believe me i've done a couple of these and they are easy if you can do body work.chevys are a little harder to do than a dakota.

Mostly do furd rangeaz out here. As a matter of fact. I dont recall seeing a DAK tailgate shaved 'round here. Yea I'd forgotten the clips on dodge tailgates work both ways.

go to www.streetsource.com and go to owner profiles and look up slamer if you want to see mine.i shaved the body lines too.and caddy tails :).
