Message: So, I've removed the "DAKOTA Sport" from the doors and all that crap on the tail gate. You can still see where they were, if you look real hard. I've used the Goo-Gone and it did well, BUT, that was until i made it home and noticed that all of the dust and debris in the air sticks perfectly to where the decals were. Will it be like that for a while, after a few washs, or do I need to spray some more Goo-Gone?

Message: Lol, Yea, I figured that would be the reply I would get...since it's common sense and all.
Gracias for helping me out though....if this doesnt work, I will use it as an excuse to get a different/new paint job. :)

Message: You didn't say what year it was though. If it was just dirt sticking, it should go away after a few cleaning cycles, but if it's truely dis-colored, you're right,,, paint 'er on up.

Message: Ah, sorry. It's not terribly ancient, 2000.
Yea, it's just dust and debris that sticks. When I first removed them, before driving, they were completely gone and the surface felt smooth and all that good sazz. I'll try the ol' "wash, wash, repeat" business for about a month, if that does not work, time to start saving and paint'er up.

Message: Try a vinyl adhesive remover...bout 20 bucks for a can of it...spray it on, wait 3-5 minutes scrape it off with a plastic putty knife....repeat if necessary.

Message: the reason you can still see where they were is because the paint on your truck has faded from the sun and the paint under the badges isnt.you can try buffing it out with a buffing compound and a swirl remover. but washing it isnt going to do anything.
