Depends what your definition of "low pro" is. I have 275/45/20 tires and they are perfect for the truck if you ask me. When it was factory height, there was no rubbing what-so-ever.

I live in south Texas, so the ride is NEVER good with any tires. They seem to make a new road, nice and smooth...and ruin it on purpose around here, lol.

But yea, I wont lie, it road a LITTLE rougher after I put the rims on there, Nothing major at all.

PYE, that's strange you are experiencing a rougher ride. I'm running 20s with 275/45 tires and I didn't notice a difference at all.
Joe, 275/45/20 tires are the perfect size for a stock suspension dakota. I've got an 02 quad cab and no rubbing at all. If you wanna take a look check out my cardomain page.

Rich - goto the SLAMMED forum, there is a post entitled "Pics of my 3/5 drop" some where.

Mine is dropped, 3/5....now it rides stock again, go figure. I think mine may have rode a little rougher because they had too much air when they were first put on. :o\

Forgot to put what kind. I paid $3300 for them. They quit making the rims so they are a dime a dozen. Very hard to find. They are x20 smack wheels.

wait, a dime a dozen usually means something is not rare, right. I mean a dime for a dozen of anything is a pretty good deal.

I WORK AT A TIRE/RIM SHOP UP IN CANADA, AND FOR YOU AMERICANS....(EH!)
ANYWAYS I HAVE A 04QUADCAB TO AND TRUST ME I HAVE SEEN OTHER DAKOTAS WITH 18 AND IT LOOKS DUMB, EVEN 20S I THINK LOOK DUMB, ITS NOT THE RIMS ITS THE TRUCK, THE WHEEL WELLS IN A DAKOTA ARE SO LARGE THAT 20S LOOK TO SMALL IF U WANT THE LOOK AND U NEED TO GO UP TO AT LEAST 22'S BUT IF U WORRIED ABOUT THE RIDE, YA OF COARSE LOW PRO TIRES U WILL BE FEEL MORE OF THE ROAD BUT IF U WANT HANDLING THATS THE WAY TO GO, BY THROWING ON SOME TOYOPROXES OR SUMTHING BUT IF U DON'T LIKE THE LOW PRO LOOK, THEN GET 18-20" RIMS, BUT MY EXPERIANCE AT MY WORK IS THAT THE LOOK OF 18-20 RIMS DOESN'T DO IT, IT ALMOST LOOKS STUPID TO ME, BUT EVERYONES GOT THERE OWN PREFERENCE, AND THERE IS MINE SO THERES MY INPUT..

That is your opinion ,like you said. I personally believe there is a such thing as a rim that is too large for a certain vehicle...and 22's are pushing it. I find my 20's with a 3/5 drop, fender wells deleted, looks the best. This is a mid-size truck...20's are perfection.
