Subject: 18" Wheel@Tire Q's IP: Logged
Message: Wassup everyone,
I am looking to get a set of 18s for my 2K reg cab 2WD. I got some questions and I hope you guys can help me out.
What is the best backspacing to get? I DO NOT want the deep dish look. Is 5 1/2" Backspacing sufficient for the look I want?
What is the best tire combo to go with?
Ive heard that 255/55 in the front and 285/55 in the rear is good combo, any other suggestions?
Can I lower my truck and not have the tires rub with the above set up? Or can you guys reccomend a good setup? Thank You for any help.

Message: how wide of a rim do you want? i see you want a wider tire in the rear, so if you also want a wider rim the backspacing will be differant than the front. on a 8" wide rim go with a 6 1/4" backspace
also if you want a wider tire in the rear, go with a lower profile. that way the overall diameter will be the same front and rear.
how low do you want to go?

Message: For my truck which is being lowered 3/5" the back spacing was 6", If you want to go lower on 'bags or body drop you need at least 6.25" of backspacing. What do you mean by deep dish look?
