Subject: Rumble Bee Scoop IP: Logged
Message: I really like the looks of the hood scoop that Dodge is putting on the Rumble Bee edition trucks. Does anyone know where an after market version of this could be found. If I can't find one, would it be possible to make my own? This might sound stupid but couldn't a person take some styrofoam(?), cut and shape it into the scoop size and then coat the foam with bondo or something with some body that could be sanded smooth to paint? Does anyone have any other suggestions on home built scoops?

Message: you could use your styrofoam idea. But then cover it with fiberglass.

Message: I'm thinking that the chemicals in the fiberglass resin might eat the foam. I'm going to try a couple of ideas soon and see if I can save a few dollars. I have found one of these available, but it costs a little over two hundred. If I had the money to spend on something like that, I would just buy a functional hood. But I don't so I'll just experiment for a cheap good looking solution. Thanks

Message: wrap your foam with foil to protect it from the fiberglass.
