Subject: Fiberglass Hood? IP: Logged
Message: Im looking into getting a ram air style fiberglass hood, but a guy i talked to said that with Dallas Texas summer heat.. the fiberglass would warp and no longer align with the right of the body...have any of u guys ever heard of this problem?, or is that guy i talked to blowing smoke

Message: It depends on the quality of the hood. A good quality hood won't lose it's shape that badly. If you are really concerned about it, put it on the truck, and drive around with it for a couple months before you paint it so in case it does warp a little, a body shop can fix it before it gets painted. Usually, the fiberglass hoods tend to bow in the center a little, but that's mostly from the hood springs being to stiff for the lighter weight fiberglass hoods.
