I've been thinking of buying a power tailgate lift kit from Styinconcepts and was wondering if anyone has installed one. I have a Checkmate tonneau cover which sits down insides the rails and am curious about where the actuator mounts.

Is this a unit that opens the tailgate or lifts the tonneau? It would be SICK if it did both.
The actuator would mount on a pivoting bracket about 2 feet from the front of the bed on a slight angle while closed. Have a look at the hydraulic hood props used on many cars.

Ya you can get the kit that does both or you can get the tailgate and upgrade. I guess I'll give them a call before ordering. I want my bed lights to come on when the gate and cover open too. That will be awsome.
