Message: My nerf bars were looking pretty rusty from the winter roads here in upstate New York, so i sanded them down, filled the holes in, painted, and covered them with a crapload of clearcoat. While they were off, i decided to get some 1/8" vinyl pinstriping and lay down some flames. Haven't seen anyone doing it before, so let me know what you think!!

Message: it wasn't too bad to do. The pinstriping was pretty flexible so the curves came out pretty good. Then just trim the tips to get a nice sharp point and there you have it. The hard part was trying to recreate it on the other side of the truck. trying to post some more pics.

Message: Good idea and looks cool, now get some short mudflaps on there to protect your work before winter. I take mine off for the summer and put them back in the winter to keep the nasty NY road salt/sand/rocks from killing my rockers and nerfs so bad.
Without turning this into a I HATE Westin products thread, I found out with my last Dakota that Black Westin nerfs don't hold up to the salt during winter time no matter how much you keep them cleaned or protected. Even the Chrome Westin's on my wifes Dak have rust spots after only one winter even though the truck is washed at least once a week. Garbage, Garbage, Garbage!
Vortex dual 3 inch cat back, Volant Intake, Poweraid TB Spacer, full synthetic fluids 4 inch Rancho/3 inch Body Lift, 35/12.50-17 Xterrains on 17x10 AR Atlas, Rancho 9000x's Grizzly double/single rollbar with (6)Hella's, Manik Nerfs/Tailight Guards, Line-X, Hard Work & $$$$$$$$$$
