 Subject: Cragar S/S Mags on 4x4?

ok... i am lookin to put a set of Cragar S/S mags on my 87 4x4. i want the rims to have a pretty deep offset from the outside, (deeper in the rear, than the front, if possible) similar to the way the S/S Mags looked on the muscle cars of the 60s and 70s. i have a few questions...
1. my main concern is, will the center caps clear the hub?
2. the tires are 225/75/15s, would i be better off with 15x7s or 15x8s?
3. whats the best backspacing to run to achieve the look i want?
4. anyone have any answers to this...?
