Message: I want a keyless remote starter for my truck. I do not know anything about them. I would like to know if they are good or bad. I would like to know which brands are good and which are bad.
Thanks

Message: I purchased a basic DEI alarm that came with a remote start. It was around $200 from cartoys. I'm sure you can get just the remote start portion installed though. I'm not sure how it works for other year dakotas, but I had to bring mine in a few times to get them to set it up right. I brought my 2000 with the 4.7 in when it was still pretty new. Mine in particular, had to have three different wires hooked up from the remote start computer to some crazy mess of wires under the dash. It always started up just fine but would trip the tranny light. Now it works perfectly. Only after 6 months! :-)
Good luck.

Message: Hey darkfury;
How does the Viper work. Is it good. $399 does not seem that bad. I need one b/c of my system and I really would like the remote start as well. Hey kicker01, I believe that for the remote start you have to have an auto.
