Message: I have thoes in mine. I am actuall fighting the ticket that i got for them at 8:30 tomorrow morning ;)
for taking them out, just grab the headlight ring, and turn it about 1/8-1/4 of a turn and pull back. on my truck the pasenger side ring was a bi1ch to get back in place.

Message: yes it is illegal to have any color other than white for your headlights.. I had the eurolight blue bulbs and found that they did not light the road up at night excpecially if raining or foggy. I currantly am running the toucan ind. xenon chrystal white bulbs and am completely happy with them, they light up the road better at night.

Message: Here is a good one. If they are illegal to have as headlights. Then why is it that BMW now has plasma blue headlights stock now, eh?
Besides as far as illegal coloured headlights go. I have only heard of two. The red tinted ones and the SUPER BRIGHT WHITE ONES!!! that blind your ass at night even on dim....bloody hell. Heh.

Message: I didn't touch my headlights, but I used a blue stain that I put on the clear caps of the fog lamps. It's perfectly leagal and they are really cool. you should think about doin that instead of changing your head lights.

Message: mikel, the BENZ and BIMER lights are HID's. you can buy them for your truck, but they cost $800-1000! they are legal because the light on the ground is white. the plazma blue ones shine a blue light on the ground.
I just got back from court and the judge told me that ANY bulb that has a blueish tint to it (not HID'S) are illeagle. this includes the GE light with the DOT sticker on it. I showed him a GE light and the DOT sticker and said "how am i sopose to know if it was illeagle? afterall it does have the sticker" i told him i changed the lights back to stock (i really didnt) and he dropped the charges.

Message: There is a locking ring surrounding the bulb socket on both headlights that has to be rotated about 1/8-1/4 turn. They're kind of a pain to grasp if you're bigger than a 12 year old, but once you get the procedure down they're relatively easy.

Message: KCDAK: I got them from a local aftermarket store, I'm sure you can get them from a shop that sells toucan industries stuff.
Eric: thanks for telling mikel that so I don't have to...
Mikel: get your facts straight first now, eh.

Message: "Plasma Blue" headlight bulbs are POSER
FAKE HIDs. They are not only illegal, but
produce a lower usable light output, and label
you "I am a stupid Riceboy-wannabe moron
and I want my Dak to look like a Pakchinko
machine!". These bulbs have a blue dye
applied to the glass which produces the
coloring.
Think about it - ANY kind of tinting, grillwork,
covers, or "Euro-look" masks applied over
headlights REDUCE light output - it's
academic. Ever seen SCUBA diving movies
where everything looks blue? That's because
water absorbs blue light; yellow is best for
rain/fog (duh) because water doesn't absorb it
as well.
Want better light output? Get Xenon/Halogen
gas bulbs - these produce a truly whiter and
brighter light output.
Probably the best (and cheapest) thing to do
is be sure your headlights are adjusted
properly - especially after installing new bulbs!
More information on correct/high-quality
lighting can be found at Daniel Stern Lighting
http://lighting.mbz.org/. This guy's sometimes
difficult to deal with, but at least he has the
facts straight.

Message: Having a problem...can't get the dang headlight housing out so I can change them! Tried removing a bolt (to the inside of the lights), but it would only go so far and then it rubbed another piece making it impossible to remove. But...the outside of the light popped out of a "hole" or whatever its in.
Long story short...how do I get the housing out so I can change the lights?

Message: When ya remove the turnsignal housing(takes a T10 torx driver), there will be 3 bolts holding the headlight housing on. Remove those and you can change the bulbs.
