How much would you estimate it to cost to get a body kit painted? Should I get it painted before or after I put it on? How much to put on new exhaust?

What type of exhaust? Paint is expensive if you're goin custom, if you just want it to match factory you shouldn't spend too much.

In my experiences...

$450 for a 2.5" exhaust dual set-up, muffler on back

Paint to match factory... Take it to Maaco. For about $250 - $400 you will be good to go. Not all Maacos are bad, just make sure to get referances.

Custom paint... For solid colors take it to the dealer. They stand behind their work even though it may cost a little more in labor. This will run about $3000. As for custom with designs you are looking at $5000+.

IMO, if your looking to do custom paint on your car/truck then do it yourself! A custom paint job on a car/truck is about 3k-5k depending on colors used, and designs and difficulty of your vehicles design. For a showcar custom finish your looking at 10k min. Honestly for $1000 you can buy all the materials (including air compressor and tools) to sand, prime, and paint a car yourself. Consult some guides and read up on automotive painting. Practice on some pieces to achieve the no drip, min orange peel, finish your looking for. For $1000 you can outfit your garage and your brain to handle most painting applications. You just have to have the time and will to learn. Save yourself a couple grand and do some work for your buddies and earn it back!

Your local auto parts store has everything your going to need short of a paint gun. You can purchase sanding discs, paint guns, air compressors at Lowes or Home Depot in the tool department if need be. I would recommend you puchase a book or two from Amazon regarding Auto Painting. I know that Auto zone/murrays has sanding paper and power drill attachments for sanding and grinding.
