Its not wheel size that matters. It's overall tire diameter. The diamter of my stock tires is 29". They are 255/65r16.

You don't have to change the gearing. Stock tires are about 28" in diameter. And you will probably be putting on or very close to 245/40R20 the diameter is 27.7" and 255/35/20 are 27.0.
I have 30" tires with 3.55, and it is ok. I wish I had the 3.92. I wouldn't go any bigger than 30" on 3.55.
