Message: I used to have them in may tails, but they were not anywhere bright enough. I didn't believe anyone telling how dim they were until I was following my truck someone else driving it. And I almost rearended my truck cause I couldn't see them in the daylight. So right after that I went back to regular bulbs. But, I am still looking for brighter LEDs they look hella cool at night. I let ya know what I find.
Later
Z-Tube, R/T Rims, SSB Rear Disc Conversion, Alpine Head-Unit, Infinity Kappa Speakers, SilverStar Headlights, HO Cams & Intake installed.

Message: OK Michael,
Thanks for the information. I'm still looking myself. I know that some cars and a lot of commercial trucks are using them now, and they're plenty bright. Also a lot of the traffic Signal Lights here are using a bunch of LEDs instead of single bulbs.

Message: Yeah I know about the ones used around thats why I like them, but for auto tail lights they are just not bright enough yet. That I have found anyway, thinking about making a plate with LEDs and insert it into the taillight, where it will look like the high end autos.

Message: one thing is you need to make sure you run a resisitor when
you install the LEDs, you can find these on ebay, and many
motorcycle part websites. If you dont, your turn signals
blink very fast, which is pretty annoying. I had them when I
had clear tails, (APC ones), and you couldnt see them at all
during the day, but that was a couple years ago, so i am
sure they have improved.

Message: Thanks guys,
I know anout the resistors. Most retailers sell them right along with the LED replacements. I have clears on on my truck, so I need to make sure they'll be visible in the daylight.
I've also noticed that some OEM equipment on the new upscale cars have LEDs only on the tail lights and not on the turn signals. That makes it difficult for me since both filaments are in one bulb.

Message: Thanks for the write-up on your experiences with the LED replacements. It was very informative, but I didn't see any refernce to the source of the LEDs. Is it a retail place?

Message: I'm placing a bulk order soon for them if your interested to help lower cost. I'm in the process of making a detailed list of product to choose from. If your interested, email me with your name and mailing adress and what your interested in and i'll have a price and a list of product for you soon, same goes for anyone else. Just so ya know, normally about $25 a pair, depending how many we get on this, it can drop drastically. I'm expecting a solid turn out. There will be other bulb sizes, several bulb colors and such so if your interested in redoing your front end and some interior lights etc it can be easily done.
