Message: I live in Ohio and just got a ticket recently for too dark tint on my front windows. The ticket is $90 and I wasn't speeding, just a really bored cop that had nothing better to do. Is that ticket price correct, or can the cops just make the ticket however much they want? I've already taken the tint off, but my rear windows are still pretty dark. Are they gonna bother me about that too? I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Message: Why don't you see if you can find info on the DOT website for Ohio (both for regulations and ticket costs). $90 isn't much to complain about, and I seriously doubt they have the freedom to make up any amount they want.

Message: The state laws about tinting vary, but generally only apply to the front windows. Did the cop use that special tool that actually measures the tint grade? If he didn't, you could probably fight the ticket. But since you already removed the tinting, you'll have a tough time winnning that one. You word against his, and the judge usually believes the cop. Ticket fines are usually on a set scale.
