I am wanting to get 295/40/20 tires but my rims a 20x8.5. Does anyone know if these tires will fit on this rim or do I need a wider rim.

they will fit but why do u want such a wide tire u will most like rum the hell out of your fenders why not 275/45/20? the width of the rim is ok for the 275 but the 295 may make it wanna do the "balloon" effect on the side walls.

hey todd tire question for you, you use 275/45/20 tires on your dak mine came with the stock 255/65/15. i lowered it 3"/5", the fronts rub the fender flares on bumps.others that are lowered use that same tire (which is taller than my stock tires) with no (or little) rubbing problem how come??

not sure man mines a slt 2wd v6 not sure what the stock 15" tire was but the 275 in roughly 29" tall

The 275/45/20 is 29.7" tall and 10.8" wide.
The 295/40/20 is 29.3" tall and 11.6" wide.
The 255/65/15 is 28.1" tall and 10.0" wide.
