will 285-60-18 size tire fit on a Dakota 4x4 I ask because 18s seem to be cheaper than 17s at most places Ive looked if that size won't what will?

That's a pretty big tire...
The factory R/T tire is 255/55-17 which comes out to 28.04" in diameter, I think the factory 4x4 tire is somewhere around 29" in diameter.
285/60-18 is 31.46" in diameter and 11.22" wide - it might get a bit hairy on a factory 4x4 setup.
