Message: hmm.... i've never heard of an actual kit specifically for that, (i wouldn't be surprised if they did tho.) but i'm sure you could wire a little solenoid to pull the latch open. the same kind used for shaved doors, but less powerful. it might be kinda hard unless u have an alarm, etc with an extra channel to hook it up to. but it would probably pull it only momentarily, so you'd have to hold the remote button down while u open the hood.
like i said, it wouldn't be hard IF u have an extra channel to hook up the solenoid. then there's just placement of it...peace

Message: I shaved the cross out and put a solid mesh grill in. I took a thin piece of aluminum maybe 1/2" wide by 9" long (you'll have to measure it out, I can't remember exactly) then put a twist in it at the latch, and drilled a hole and bolted it on. If the meatal is to heavy you'll have spring problems. It sits almost flush with the bottom of the grill and at an angle, so when you pop it open, you just reach in underneath the grill and move it to the left, releasing the safety catch. Also rounded the edges. The solenoid is a good idea but it might be hard to find a place for it to live, I might try that myself though since I have 5 more channels to play with.

Message: Solenoid latch is probably a bad idea. What happens when you get a dead battery? Can't open the hood to jump start it. You'de have to install a remote terminal or move the battery to the bed area.

Message: Just shave the secondary latch and put in hood pins like I did. Looks good with hood pins.
