 Subject: Need air filter box help

I have a 98 CC with a 3.9...I took out the original air filter box assembly and put in a homebrew cold air filter assembly. My problem is I tossed all the old parts and now I need to get a smog check and they won't pass me unless I have a C.A.R.B. number or OEM filter assembly. Does anyone out there have a air filter box and assembly they are not using? Please help if you do.

That sucks man... I'd say find your nearest family member in a different state, and go get it done there. My brother lives in Dallas Texas, and he drives down to where I live... TEXAS A&M and gets it done. A-it's cheaper by 25 bucks... B-not so smog conscience (sp?) if you know what I mean.
Other than that, I'd try and find somewhere that won't care... or that will turn their head and look the other way.
I'm just crooked aren't I?

I have a 2000 dakota with a shaker hood. All of my cold air induction products are intact and if you would like to purchase it, I would be willing to sell it as I will not have any use for it. Make me an offer and by the way it is from a 4.7L V8. Good Luck

well... i have a 2000 3.9L and i still have mine sitting around and want to sell...but, i'm in school and it's back home at my parents' house. Plus, thing's not too small so i don't know what shipping would be. don't know how long u want to wait, so let me know if it's good for you, and i'll see if my mom will send it out for me (she's ebay crazy, so she's good at that stuff)...peace

my advice is find a friend who has a 3.9 dakota and borrow his air box for long enough to get a sticker thin giv it right back to him

I wish I had a friend that has a Dak like mine. If I did, I would have borrowed it already and had this problem already taken care of.
