Greetings All.
Has anyone had any experience installing a power sliding rear window? I've seen some for sale at a few sites, but never actually seen one. I think it'd be pretty cool. Thanks.

I had a power slider in one of my Rangers that one of my buddies now owns.

They are pretty trick. I wouldn't waste the $$ on a regular cab, but they are nice on a CC or QC.

They are made by CR Lawrence, or something like that.

Only disadvantage, manual sliding rear windows are easy to break into. You can unlock the latch, still hold a watertight seal, yet slide the window open from the outside "just in case" you lock your keys in. I've learned my lesson with the manual sliders. Anytime I plan on camping out and have way too many to drink, I leave the rear window accessible for the next A.M. in case my keys hapeen to get locked in.

Back to your original post, electric sliding rear windows are fat if you can afford them and don't like the manual ones.

Power sliding rear windows came stock with the ol' Mark III conversions of the Dakota. They came with the full overhead counsel that goes from the back window to the front windshield. I once had the opportunity to nab one for $100 from a junkyard, but didn't want to spend the extra money. I've been kicking myself ever since. I did get the leather seats however! For those who have Gen II Dakotas, it might be worthwhile calling around junkyards to find one.
