Subject: Tonneau Cover IP: Logged
Message: I am thinking about getting a tonneau cover for my 99 ext-cab SLT. I already have bed rails on the truck, so should I take them off and get a hard Tonneau or should I leave them on and get a soft Tonneau. And also should I get one the same color as the truck (Red) or should I go with a black one. Thanks

Message: Hey,
I have been asking myself the same question ever since I got my 2003 CC Stampede edition in august. I wanted to find a hard cover to fit within the bed, but have been unsuccessful. I think I am going with the access soft cover to keep the bedrails, since they add a lot to the truck, and was one of the things that got me to buy the truck in the first place

Message: i really like the look the hard cover gives a truck. i love mine, but if you plan on hauling a lot of things in the bed of your truck i wouldnt get one, they are pretty restrictive. if you do get a hard cover defintely get it the same color as the truck, it just doesnt look right when its a different color.

Message: the stylinconcepts.com one is the fastback flush tonnue. i talked to the guys there and with shipping it comes out to like 700 bucks. there is also the $309 checkmate fx which is inside the bed rails. go to www.checkerpro.com . they also have the slim top made by peak or somethin like that. i have heard its better quality and not much more. send john mercedes an e-mail(john@southeastrt.com) asking about the slim top and he will sell it to you cheaper than anywhere else. im buying mine through him. just tell him you talked to matt and he will know. hope this helps. later
