Very nice work on your dakota. I just visited your website. I especially like your center console. Can you give me any advice as to go about even starting to tackle such a project? I have a standard cab '99. I would like to do one very similar, except I don't have a 5 speed. Any chance that you kept the measurments, etc.? If so, could you help me out with the designing portion of it? Also, I tried everywhere that I could think of to find the neoprine, I too think tweed is a little over used. (I live in Massachusetts if that makes a difference on location). One more question, where did you go to get the paint for your interior? Thanks for any/all replies, and again, excellent job. I think I read that your in Connecticut, any North East meets planned? I'd like to meet up with some of you guys. Later

low99dakota,

I designed my console in my head so I don't have any plans for it. It's actually not that bad to design. Just be sure to "try it out" first with cardboard. An excellent source for pictures of different consoles can be found in the shows section of http://sportruck.com/
I bought the neoprene directly from www.wetokole.com. They sell sheets of neoprene in any color they offer seats in.
Actually, I live in Rhode Island and there is a meet/show coming up which is in Lebanon, NY. You can see the details about it at

low99dakota,

I forgot to include that the paint I used can be found at AutoZone. I had good luck using Dupli-Color paint and so far it's holding up very well to the temperature extreme's of the northeast.
