Subject: Rust on chrome rims?!?!?! IP: Logged
Message: Aloha dudes and duddettes,
It was raining in Hawaii for the last month now. I just did a full detail on my truck and found some rust looking crap on my chrome rims!! i used like chrome polish/rust remover but i still that oxidation/rust lookalike thingy.
how can i get those sh!t out?!?!?! I need that chrome look again. any help is appreciated.

Message: I'm not telling you to try this as I used to detail cars and saw many a detailer mess up with this one. so do some searching on my suggestion via internet.
We used to use a real fine steal wool when that happened. Some people could do it without hardly a bur. others couldn't its all in the pressure.

Message: Up here in winter country,road salt plays havoc with chrome rims..so much so that I bought a set of 20"s for the summer and keep my winter tires on the old chrome 17"s. When the rust becomes really unsightly I take it off with an ordinary SOS pad (the ones with the soap) The soap keeps the steel wool from scratching the chrome. They come out as good as new! WELL, after two winters--ALMOST!
