Does anyone know how well the CheckMate FX Fiberglass tonneau cover keeps out water?

not very well at all... at least mine doesn't! the rubber/foam seals that come with it have a tendency to peel off of the cover and stick to the bed (in hot weather at least; like here in FL). it's a cheap cover (u can tell by the price), but it's a good deal, and they look great if u paint it well...peace

does it come with the foam sealer or whatever already on the bed cover or do you install it yourself? because for that price it wouldnt hurt to just go and buy some good weather stripping and put it on there instead.

i've had my cover here in fl for about a year now and mine leaked a little water. i changed the weather stripping and had it painted. if they seal where the metal frame and the fiberglass meets it will make a big difference. only when there is a huge downpour and the truck sits during the downpour will a little bit leak through but its a good deal for the money. hope this helps!

u install the seal yourself, after mine came off the first time, i redid it with some weatherstripping from home depot...then did it again.
i think next time, i'm gonna superglue the damn seal to the cover, cuz the self-adhesive crap on the seals is what sucks...peace

I also replaced my weatherstripping with stuff from Home Depot, it works a lot better. It's still not waterproof, but out here in the desert I don't need it to be.

well see the problem out here is that i will hopefully be going off to college in lubbock, tx and they have rain, snow, dust...you name it. and with a pile of snow sitting there it would suck because all that would melt and drip right inside. but oh well ill figure something out.
