Subject: Removing factory graphic on sport model

Message:
Hey what's up?
I have a 95 sport model and want to remove the factory graphic. Just curious if anyone has done this also and if there was a problem with the paint fading.
Thanks

I propped up a halogen light close to the graphic area (about 12" away) and let things get warm. Then I just peeled the graphics off with my fingernail. Some of the bottom layer of the graphics seperated and remained on the truck. This I carefully removed with mineral spirits. Lastly, a light buffing with rubbing compound to remove the faint shadow followed by wax. This was done on a 97 Dakota. Hope this works.

I did mine a few summers ago. And living in Arizona took away the need for a heat source. I just let my truck sit in the sun and peeled it off with my fingernails. You just need it warm enough so the bond will be more liquid-like than solid cement like. Which doesn't take too much heat.

It did leave some of the gooey stuff behind, but that's nothing a little GOO GONE couldn't fix. Then just buff as needed.
