Is anyone out there racing their dakota in Solo II (Autocross) competition? If so, what suspension/brake mods did you make?

Even if no-one is racing, would someone please suggest some good mods. I would like to lower it a bit without losing functionality.

If you are going to autocross your Dak then Hotckis is the suspension setup you want to use. Those swaybars are massive and will get rid of that bodyroll. If you are going all out get the Billstien shocks as well. If you have an R/T the Hotchkis will lower it another inch in the front and 2 in the rear. If you have a Sport or SLT it'll give you a 2/3 drop. This way you'll be lowered some but still be very practical as a daily driver.

As for the brakes I can't help you there. Not sure what might be the best for an autocross.

Like Shawn said, also if you can find it. A Kenny Brown X-brace works great to control body flex. Helps drift flat instead of hopping. I autocross mine and the only thing I did with the brakes is the Powerslot Rotors/Stillen Metal Matrix Pads on the front. Have worked great for over 2 years.

Thanks a bunch to both of you for the responses. I was looking at the Hotchkis 2216. Is that what you and Shawn were thinking? Do I have to do springs with that as well?

Also, have the Power Slot Rotors chewed up brake pads faster than normal?

Thanks again.

Or you could do a four wheel SSB disk swap. The whole setup, 4 disks and pads and rear disk kit will run you about $1000 if you can find a good price on the parts.

Hotchkis TVS. They make one for RC or CC. They do the front springs, rear leafs, and sways. Also get the Bilstien shocks by Hotchkis if you can, I have the regular ones and they work fine though. No on the brake wear. I have about 15,000 miles and 30 or so autocrosses on the rotors and they still look brand new. The pads still look great as well. If you are serious about the brakes, look at the viper conversion. Expensive but nice.
