Subject: Tips on roll pan install IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys, I have a 99 Dak. I just bought a Street Scene Generation 1 urethane roll pan.
Any reason to pre-fit the pan? I was just going to prep and shoot it, then install it.
Any tips or tricks you guys have learned that might save me some trouble before I start?
Any advice is welcome.

Message: my roll pan went on very nice.
Obviously you need to drill some custom screw holes depending. The parts that came with it are not just going to fit right in if you are unlucky. But the piece that holds the pan in a snug and sturdy may need to be bent to prevent theroll pan from being wabbly and loose. It's hard to explain but if you have the same piece's I did the center piece is maybe 6inches long and has lots of srew holes all the way down the center.
This the only way I can explain the bend in the piece. Hope you get it!!!
The bend in the middle or close to the middle should look like this (/) that will push the rollpan out and keep it sturdy. The drill holes should match up to the box and the center holes in the roll pan where the licence plate will hide them. In order to keep the tailgait from rubbing, just use some chalk and mark some hole positions. tape the UNPAINTED roll pan in place with the holes and simply check the tailgate clearance. It is important not to paint the rollpan first just in case you ding it while experimenting good placement. Get the rollpan in the right spot and then paint and reinstall.
Also from the drill holes make sure you throw some touch up paint on the bare metal to prevent rust. hope This has been helpfull and I know your rollpan will kick some a$$

Message: Thanks drummerboy.
I am assuming you also had the Street Scene gen 1 urethane pan?
If anyone has this exact pan installed, what size is the tailgate/roll pan gap?
Thanks for the info guys,
Darryl
