Subject: R/T Rims on a 92 IP: Logged
Message: I want to change my stock rims on my 92 dakota.
And I think the r/t rims just rock!
Does anyone know if they will fit my truck or what I should do to make them fit.
My truck is not lowered yet so I think I should have enough room.

Message: Dude, Your ride is sick!!!
I am pi$$ed now that I've seen them on your truck.
I went to the local big Dodge dealership and asked if they would fit. And before I even finished asking the question the parts idiot told me they wouldn't!!!!
He says not only would they not fit, but they are like 2000g's a piece!!!!
Please tell me you did not spend an arm and a leg for them.
Your interior is alot different from mine. But I have a v8 318 in my 92. That must be the reason.
Thanks for the pics man. They rock!!!!

Message: The RT wheels should fit your truck. They are 6 x 4.5 which most of daks are. The guy at the dealer is full of crap about the price. Alloy RT rims are around $600 for the set including centercaps. Check on ebay and you could probaly pick up a set with tires for around that price.

Message: Go to another Dealership and have them look up the price on them They are in MOPAR Acc. Catalog for like 160 a piece I got mine from a guy on this forum for 600 Dollars Brand new. Thanks for the Compliments on my Dakota. There is some small issues that you have to take care of but its a pretty simple swap. Grinding the Upper Control arm and the spindle but I you have lowered your Gen 2 with spindles then you dont have to do either

Message: The Small issues is contact with the upper control arm you can take care of this by grinding about an 1/8 to a 1/4 inch off the lip. Then spindle all you have to do is grind the end of the spindle down a little to make the Dust Cap fit under the center cap. But If your Dakota is lowered with Spindles then you dont need to do any of this. Hopefully this helps you out
